Hosted by Sideburnzombie, the undead video store clerk raised by his VCR babysitter.
The BAMF Podcast dives headfirst into cult-fueled, nostalgia-dripping VHS mayhem, from horror and action to sci-fi and the beautifully unhinged B-movies out there.
Each week we dust off a warped and moldy tape and remember why the ‘80s and ‘90s hit different.

Rewind and Be Kind
The burr season is officially here, and there’s a lot happening in the Rewind Underground.
This week I’m talking about the next VHS swap, getting back around the gaming table with the crew of the Rust-Bound Star, and the very cool fact that VHS: Virtual Hero Simulator is officially in a store.
From there, I get into some future plans: possibly printing a full physical VHS rulebook, ideas for OttoCon, putting together a retro pop-up filled with movies, games, comics, and nostalgia, and creating BAMF Bootleg compilation tapes packed with old Halloween and Christmas specials, vintage commercials, and forgotten TV goodness.
And because apparently I don’t already have enough projects, I’m also digging into the archives of our old public-access show No Need for an Introduction for a possible 25th-anniversary best-of.
Basically: VHS tapes, tabletop games, retro culture, public access, and a whole lot of ideas.

Resident Evil: I Stand Corrected
I finally did it, I saw a current horror movie in the theater.
This episode is all about the new Resident Evil movie, and yes, there will be spoilers. After spending the summer questioning the modern-day setting and wondering why the movie wasn’t tied more directly to the original game timeline, I actually went to see it…and I’m happy to admit I was wrong about a few things.
We’re talking the relentless pacing, the everyday courier caught in absolute chaos, the little video-game touches, the first-person moments, the body horror, the humor, and all the ways the movie still feels unmistakably like Resident Evil without simply replaying Leon, Claire, Jill, and the rest of the usual crew.
Sometimes you climb onto the soapbox. Sometimes you have to climb back down and use the soap to clean your mouth out.
Go see Resident Evil.

VHS in Stores, Plan 9 & the First Day of Fall
Fall is officially here, the flannel is on, and the Rewind Underground is getting busy.
On this walk-and-talk, I give a little state of the union on the podcast, talk about this weekend’s VHS swap and a very special screening of Plan 9 from Outer Space from an old TV-recorded VHS tape, and get into where things stand with VHS: Virtual Hero Simulator.
The game is finally feeling finished, stores are interested in carrying it, new Rentals are coming together, and I’m starting to think about what comes next, a slipcover-style release, a gimmick generator, form-fillable character sheets, and maybe even a proper website. As Roddy Piper told me once “Dare to Dream”.
It’s equal parts movies, tabletop games, VHS culture, and figuring things out as I go.
