This is golf podcast. We’ll cover current golf events. We’ll talk about instruction. We’ll talk about clubs. We’ll talk about everything happening in the golf world.
I’ve been taking golf lessons since I was eight years old, and over the years I’ve probably worked with close to 20 different coaches. Some were great, some weren’t the right fit, and some gave me things I probably wasn’t ready to understand at the time.
After a lesson today with Bill Breen, I started thinking about that entire journey—and why finding a coach who speaks your language can completely change the way you learn and enjoy the game.
I talk about the instructors who have shaped my swing over the years, what finally clicked for me today, and the responsibility we have as players to ask questions, do the work, and learn how to be coached.

Follow The Darn Rules
The Walker Cup reminded me why match play is the best form of golf: great courses, great players, great fans and no bs. I talk about GB&I’s comeback, the unconceded-putt controversy, and a match from a few year’s ago that taught me a valuable lesson: follow the damn rules.

It Was On The Calendar
I tried something new this year: planning ahead. I put the golf tournaments on the calendar months in advance, made sure everyone knew the dates, and thought I had the whole thing figured out.
Then the greens went sideways, tournament dates started moving, and a rescheduled Member-Member landed directly on top of a family beach trip. What followed was a day of negotiations, arguments and attempted problem-solving… until my playing partner texted me at 9 pm to say he couldn’t play anyway.
So much for planning ahead.
