Real estate, motherhood, business, and everything in between.
Hosted by realtors and moms Larissa and Sarah The Barely Balanced Agent is a podcast for agents building a business while raising a family and trying to keep life somewhat together along the way.
In each episode, we talk about the real side of real estate — the wins, the chaos, the mindset shifts, and the lessons that come with running a business in a commission-based world while juggling kids, clients, and everyday life.
You'll hear conversations about:
• Growing a real estate business • Navigating motherhood and entrepreneurship • Mindset and personal growth • Lessons from the field (the good, the bad, and the hilarious) • Real stories from agents figuring it out as they go
Because the truth is… no one has it perfectly balanced.
We're all just barely balanced.
Business Planning When You’re a Realtor Mom: Getting Your Husband, Family & Calendar on the Same Page
This week, we’re talking about planning for your business AND your life. Because when you’re a Realtor, a mom, a wife, and approximately 47 other things, those plans can’t really live separately.
Maybe that looks like getting away for a long weekend with your husband to talk about what you both want the next year to look like. Maybe it’s sitting down together and creating a family and business vision board. It doesn’t have to be fancy. The point is getting everyone on the same page about what you’re working toward, what matters to your family, and what actually needs to happen to get there.
Because we all know the truth: if there isn’t a plan and it’s not on the calendar, it’s probably not happening.
We’re talking about: • Business planning for Realtor moms • Creating a family and business vision • Getting your spouse involved in your goals • Planning around real estate, motherhood, and family life • Turning goals into actual calendar commitments • Building a business that works with the life you actually want

Back-to-School as a Realtor Mom: Morning Routines, Mom Hustle & Finding What Actually Works
Back-to-school season sounds so organized until you’re actually in it. Alarms are going off, lunches need to be packed, kids need to get dressed, someone can’t find their shoes, and somehow you’re also supposed to start your own workday.
Sarah and Larissa are officially back in the school-year hustle, and as usual, they could not be more opposite in how they handle their mornings. They’re sharing what mornings actually look like in their houses, what works for their kids, and why the “best” routine might just be the one that works for your family.
For Realtor moms and working moms trying to balance school schedules, real estate, motherhood, and everything else that starts demanding your attention before 8 a.m., this one will feel very familiar.
We’re talking about:
Back-to-school routines for working moms
Realtor mom morning schedules
Getting kids out the door without losing your mind
Different parenting styles and personalities
Balancing real estate and motherhood
Finding routines that actually work for your family
Letting go of the idea that there’s one “right” way to do mornings

Our Seller Fired Us… and We Were Relieved
Larissa got fired by a seller for not communicating enough. Except she was communicating twice a week, which is already more than the typical cadence. So… what do you do with that?
In this episode, we’re talking about the part of real estate that doesn’t get discussed enough: sometimes you can be doing your job well and still not be the right Realtor for a particular client.
We get into what happened with this listing, the weird mix of emotions that comes with being released by a seller, and why sometimes there’s actually a little relief when a difficult client decides to move on.
More importantly, we talk about what we can learn from it. What questions should we be asking at seller appointments? How clearly are we defining communication expectations? And how do we get better at recognizing the clients who might not be a good fit before we’re already in it?
For Realtor moms and women in real estate trying to build a business without taking every client experience personally, this one is a reminder that losing a client doesn’t always mean you did something wrong.
