About The BEAM Chronicles
There are no "superheroes." We don't even use that word: we call them Anomalies. And to us normal people, not blessed with the gifts of flight, or strength, or hyper-powered mech-suits, these Anomalies, regardless of their intentions, are a threat. They must be dealt with--they must be equalized. We are the Bureau for the Equalization of Anomalistic Metahumans, BEAM for short. We will solve the Anomaly problem, by whatever means necessary. The BEAM Chronicles is a sci-fi/super-hero fiction podcast produced, written, and performed by storyteller MJ Dooney, with the assistance of AI-powered voice changing software. […] I had a litany of questions I was eager for her to answer, and if nothing else, our conversations would distract me from both my anxiety and the raw fecal stench of our surroundings. What is it, Doki? The light? What is it? Time! She exclaimed excitedly, still wandering down the path of the sewer, utterly unfazed by the rushing manure nor its reek. It's the manifestation of temporal energy. When I take it from objects, they slide backward in time. So, for example, I took this bit out of you. Technically, you're younger now than you were before. Just a little bit. She drifted off, then lowered the light close to her nose, squinting into it. […]
