Welcome to our second episode—and first content episode—of the Beehive podcast! Today, we will be discussing how conversations revolving around the LGBTQ+ community and the acceptance of the community changes depending on environment. Simply asking, “do you have a boyfriend?” and assuming someones' sexual orientation can end up excluding LGBTQ+ communities from conversations. We discuss what words to use for more inclusive conversations—such as “partner”—and the social implications that surround it. The content may sound a bit deep or difficult for some readers, but please approach it as a fun conversation and join us in our thoughts!
