Welcome to the The Best in Ball Show pod! Everything football with a West Coast lean. Main coverage around the squad, San Francisco 49ers but I hit all the NFL hottest topics & news! I'm your host, Ryan Theige (aka Tige), a Cali native and football fanatic.
I created this channel because it's hard to find legit people I can take seriously in this space (on local level) so I'll provide my thoughts & opinions as a knowledgeable football dude. I've been a fan my whole life & was a player until my devastating back injury that ended my run in college. I'll be sure to cover the hottest NFL stories
Why the 49ers Will SHOCK the Seahawks in the Divisional Round
The San Francisco 49ers are underdogs once again as they face the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL Divisional Round playoff—and history may be repeating itself. After upsetting the Eagles on the road, the 49ers vs Seahawks rivalry takes center stage with a trip to the NFC Championship on the line. In this video, I break down why the 49ers have the edge and how they can pull off another playoff upset. We dive into key advantages including Kyle Shanahan’s game plan, momentum from the Eagles win, Christian McCaffrey’s impact, trench dominance with Trent Williams back, and a defense built to force turnovers. I also explain why Seattle’s strengths may actually play into San Francisco’s hands and how familiarity in this NFC West rivalry changes everything.

Why the 49ers Will UPSET the Eagles in the Wild Card
The San Francisco 49ers travel to Philadelphia as underdogs in this NFL Wild Card playoff matchup, but the numbers and film tell a different story. In this video, I break down why the 49ers vs Eagles game sets up as a dangerous matchup for Philly and where San Francisco holds key advantages in the 2026 NFL Playoffs. We dive into Kyle Shanahan’s coaching edge, Brock Purdy’s playoff command, and Christian McCaffrey’s matchup against a vulnerable Eagles run defense. I also analyze how Robert Saleh’s defense can slow down Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley, plus the impact of special teams, injuries, and the 49ers’ road-tested roster. With the Eagles resting starters in Week 18 and the 49ers battle-tested through adversity, this Wild Card Round matchup could produce a major playoff upset. Brock Purdy Is Playing His BEST Football EVER
Brock Purdy is playing the best football of his career, and the NFL is officially on notice. Over the last two games, Purdy has accounted for 10 total touchdowns (8 passing, 2 rushing) while leading the San Francisco 49ers to massive prime-time wins over the Colts on Monday Night Football and the Bears in a Sunday Night Football shootout. In this video, I break down how a fully healthy Brock Purdy has unlocked a new level of confidence, mobility, and command of Kyle Shanahan’s offense. We dive into the film to show why the “system QB” narrative no longer holds up, how Purdy is elevating the 49ers offense despite injuries, and why his recent play has major NFL playoff and Super Bowl implications. With Purdy rolling and the 49ers surging in the NFC playoff race, the league should be worried. Is this the start of a deep postseason run? Let’s talk.🔥 Like & subscribe for weekly 49ers content!FOLLOW MEX: Ryan_Theige
