The Bestseller’s Beginning is a writing podcast started by two friends and aspiring authors, Lianna and Dakota, who wanted to share the often unseen part of the novel writing process. Behind the scenes, you’ll hear our feedback shared with one another during critiques of draft chapters, as well as commentary and jokes on the struggles faced by new writers. We delve into the meaty chapter 8 of Lianna's manuscript She Lies Along the Pearling Path. It's a big chapter in the story! We get our second crime scene, new characters, character blow ups, and Olivia fully getting brought into the investigation. We talk about coming back to edit a project after a break and the clarity it gives on the character, plot, and line-levels. We also talk about the challenge of responding to current events when you're book is contemporary and the plot is impacted by new developments in our ever-shifting world.
