The Bet is a one-year experiment with real stakes.
I'm testing whether I can build something so energetically solid in my thoughts, emotions, and internal frequency that reality eventually reorganizes around it.
The premise is simple. Focus less on controlling outcomes and more on the energy you choose to live in. Then see what the world delivers back.
Each week I document the experiment in real time. The decisions, the cognitive engineering behind them, and what actually happens when you bet everything on your energy being stronger than the strategy.
It's the unfiltered record of a coach and professor staking her business on one question: What happens when you refuse to bend yourself to the system and watch the system bend instead?
The final official episode of the bet. Laura goes through the challenges of the year, the growth she can point to, and the patterns still running underneath everything. She reports the annual revenue number she's been holding since September, including the goal she set and did not hit. She also comes clean about one commitment she made repeatedly all year and never finished.
What You'll Learn
What a two-year dream actually feels like on the day it arrives
The decision she made when her Useful Thinking podcast lost half its downloads three months running
Why she stopped reporting revenue publicly in month two and what she found when she finally said the number out loud
The three reasons she recorded episodes she didn't want to record
The repeating patterns she uncovered during the 12-month experiment
What she's still not doing, twelve months after committing to it
From / To Pattern Shift
From needing the metrics, the milestone, and the money to confirm the work was worth it → to letting the work itself be the thing that feeds her, and trusting the rest arrives when it's meant to.

Week 51: Pinball Energy
One week from the finish line, Laura recognizes something about her own design that reframes what her business is supposed to be. She names the financial goal she's going to miss, why she's genuinely fine with it, and the part of her that worries people will hear that as a consolation prize. Also: what a year of showing up every single week has actually cost her, and what she'd change.
Key takeaways: Why not every project needs to be finished. What happens when you stop trying to force one doorway to deliver everything. And the difference between showing up fully and wearing yourself out.

Week 50: Nobody Would Know If I Half-Assed It
Week 50 and Laura almost skipped it. She's recording from her car in 113 degree heat because she caught herself about to punt an episode nobody is waiting for, and decided the habit mattered more than the quality. What follows is a Pilates class that turned into a metaphor she didn't plan on, and a story she's been telling herself all year about what she can't do because of her schedule. She's done with that one.
What You'll Learn
Why staying in integrity with a commitment matters more than doing it well
What her instructor said before a brutal sequence that changed how she moved through it
The kind of gift only you can give yourself, and why nobody else can verify it
What she's decided about the story that her job is what's holding the business back
From / To Pattern Shift
From believing her circumstances determine what's possible in a day → to committing to the thing and letting the schedule arrange itself around it.
