The Boys Watch Holy Man
Holy Man is a 1998 comedy-drama directed by Stephen Herek, starring Eddie Murphy, Jeff Goldblum, and Kelly Preston. The film explores themes of consumerism, spirituality, and personal growth, blending humor with heartfelt moments.
The story centers around Ricky Hayman (Jeff Goldblum), an executive at a struggling home shopping channel called Good Buy. Desperate to improve ratings, Ricky and his colleague Kate Newell (Kelly Preston) encounter an enigmatic and charismatic spiritual guru named G (Eddie Murphy) on the side of the road. G begins appearing on the network, delivering messages of positivity and wisdom while promoting products in his unique and unorthodox way. Surprisingly, his presence revitalizes the channel, bringing in record-breaking sales and newfound popularity. However, as Ricky and Kate get closer to G, they are forced to reflect on their own lives and question the true cost of success and happiness.
