The BIG Decision - Episode 17 - Yesterday, we danced...A reflection on all the big moments we've had recently | Brittaney Bryan

This week, I spoke with Venus Williams on stage at the EZRA Hosts event in London. It was a magical moment, but one that, on reflection, I'd been getting ready for. Now it's time to build on that success in the next 6 months as Hong Kong becomes real. Welcome back to The BIG Decision, a real-time audio documentary tracking my journey as I prepare to move to Hong Kong over the next 6 (ish) months. This isn’t just about logistics, it’s about purpose, presence, and plotting a life with intention. Along the way, I speak with coaches, expats, job seekers, and dream-chasers to uncover the realities of quitting the steady path to move abroad, the myths we tell ourselves, and the mindset it takes to make bold life changes. The BIG Decision - Episode 16 - Do I want to make a living with the podcast? | Colum Cronin

I was joined this time by Colum Cronin, someone I met during my career in Higher Education but we weren't talking about work. We were taking about his time hosting an NFL podcast with an Irish perspective that brought on sponsors and generated an income. Our chat covers the obligations of hosting a podcast that generates income, mixing business with pleasure and navigating the scrutiny that comes with it all. This helps me shape what I want from my future and how I see my interests converge with the need to make money as I move abroad. Lots of reflections indeed. The BIG Decision - Episode 4 - Taking off the Gold(man Sachs)en Handcuffs to Bet on Yourself - Dubi Offonry

Welcome back to The BIG Decision, a real-time audio documentary tracking my journey as I prepare to move to Hong Kong over the next 12-ish months. But this isn’t just about the logistics of moving abroad. It’s about building a life with intention. One that’s aligned with my passions, strengths, and values. To get there, I’m speaking to people who’ve already made a big leap. Whether it’s quitting their job, moving across the world, or completely redefining their relationship with success. I’m Kahvan, and today I’m joined by someone who embodies so many of the themes I’m grappling with right now: experimentation, self-belief, consistency, and building community. Ndubisi, aka Dubi spent four years working at Goldman Sachs before walking away from a corporate finance career to try something radically different: founding a community-focused venture called One House Social Club, which in less than a year has brought together thousands of 20- and 30-somethings through events across the UK and Amsterdam. What caught my attention was Dubi’s courage, sharing on LinkedIn how he left a prestigious job to experiment, create, and build a life on his terms. He’s someone who’s not afraid to defy orthodoxy, embrace the unbeaten path, and, as he once put it, stay motivated by the belief that “you go fast alone, but far together.” In today’s episode, we’ll talk about taking those leaps, building community, overcoming fear, and finding strength from within. Let’s get into it. Follow Dubi on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ndubisi-offonry-92ab9a130/ Email: akhiandsaltfish@gmail.com to chat to me about The BIG Decision.

The BIG Decision - Episode 3 - Taking a Pause to Find Purpose with Takyiwa Danso

Welcome back to The BIG Decision, a real-time audio documentary tracking my journey as I prepare to move to Hong Kong over the next 12-ish months. This isn’t just about logistics. It’s about purpose, presence, and plotting a life with intention. Along the way, I’m speaking to coaches, expats, job seekers, and dream-chasers to unpack the realities of quitting the steady path, moving abroad, and the mindset it takes to make bold life changes. I’m joined by someone whose big decision has already been made. Takyiwa Danso is a fellow YTM Trustee, a brilliant creative force, and someone who recently left her job without the safety net of a sabbatical or a side hustle plan. Her story is one of courage, clarity and a deep commitment to disrupting the current systems that don’t serve us. We talk about what pushed her to walk away, what it’s like on the other side of fear, and how she’s rebuilding her days around purpose, creativity, and rest. The BIG Decision - Episode 2 - Premier League Footballer - Vincent Pericard on Consistency, Challenge, Change and Presence

Former professional footballer, Vincent Pericard joins The BIG Decision to share his experiences transitioning between the biggest clubs in the world, adjusting to life in prison, moving across the globe for love and making the shift from athlete to corporate employee. It’s safe to say Vincent’s life has been full of transitions, so he’s got a lot of wisdom to share with me. Me and Vincent discuss how Consistency + Talent = Opportunity; the struggle between focusing on your strengths or becoming a generalist; feeling at his best when he’s present and why it’s so important to stay true to yourself in key transition moments. For more on Vincent’s playing career, he had an excellent chat with Christie Scanlon which you can watch here: ttps://youtu.be/Ob5Ared47og?si=a3qbz2WXcAxEOfoT&utm_source=ZTQxO (https://youtu.be/Ob5Ared47og?si=a3qbz2WXcAxEOfoT&utm_source=ZTQxO) For more about my BIG Decision, stay tuned!
