About The Bilingual Reviewer - A Tamil+English Podcast
A review of stuff ranging from books to movies to TV shows that have affected me enough to not stop talking about it, hence, the podcast of it. Done both in ENGLISH and TAMIL. But separately though, there wont be the same podcast just in two different languages.
[TAMIL] Karnan: So Yogi Babu is Saguni? - A Movie Review
(SPOILER ALERT!) Mari Selvaraj's second and Dhanush's latest. One of the most awaited movies of the year by critics and fans alike. Did it hit the mark? Did the movie achieve what it set out to? Idealogically, I believe it has. I think it had the desired impact. But as an art form, I guess not...

[ENG] Shadow & Bone (Season 1): She's a ***** imbecile! - A Series Review
(SPOILER ALERT!) So as promised (though not for the aforementioned reason), we came out with an episode on the first season of Netflix newest book adaptation. Aqidah and I go on about what hit the mark and what missed (it went wide, ridiculously wide). Oddly enough, the producers decided to mash two separate book series into one show (not sure what Leigh Bardugo had to say about that). Honestly though, the first season kinda left a bittersweet taste on my tongue. Here's to hoping the next season delivers more of the good stuff and less of the 'imbecile' mentioned in the title (wishful thinking?)

[ENG] Leaving Time: What do you get if you multiply the Sixth Sense by 5? - A Book Review (SPOILERS)
The number 5 in the title is not arbitrary, it refers to the total number of main characters and something happens to these 5 people. Listen on to find out exactly what that is as fellow bookworm Li Shan and myself will talk about what we liked and disliked about this book. It should be interesting as Li Shan is a die hard Jodie Picoult fan. Whereas, this is the first time I'm reading a Jodie Picoult. Email me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com.

[ENG] Crooked Kingdom: So who would you kill off??? - A Book Review
Fellow bookworm Aqidah is back to review the second installation of the Six of Crows duology, the Crooked Kingdom, written by Leigh Bardugo (who just became one of my favourite authors, after finishing this book). We talk about stuff we liked, disliked, what could have been included and what could have been left out. But dont get me wrong, this is an amazing book with so many possibilities for a revisit or a possible (but highly improbable (wishful thinking?)) third book of the series. Listen on to find out who of the Six we would have killed off!
Email me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com for book suggestions or if you felt like to just say hi. Happy listening.

[TAMIL] Nenjam Marappathillai: So what is Level 3 'Pei' power??? - A Movie Review (Spoiler Alert!)
-Spoiler Alert- The long awaited (5 years to be exact) movie from Selvaraghavan is out now. Made during the hype era of 'Tamil Pei Padam', the movie releases to much anticipation. It's one helluva ride, at least for myself, because some pretty crazy things take place in the later half of the movie (but not necessarily the good kinda crazy). It's a definite departure from Selvaraghavan's usual style, but i'm not sure it's for the better. If you beg to differ, especially of you're an SR fanboy, feel free to hit me up and we can have a civilized dialogue (probably not).
If you know who that kuruttu thatha is or have the 'answer' to the films title, then email me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com or message me in FB or insta (same name).
ciao bella

[TAMIL] Teddy: Dr Varadharaajan yenggeda??? - A Movie Review (Spoiler Alert!)
-Spoiler Alert!- So i just watched Teddy (ithe athe tha, ana athe ille) and this episode is about some of the more interesting aspects of the movie, and a bit about what i thought could have been done better. As always, spoilers abound. So be sure to watch this movie before dropping by to my podcast.
If you know what happened to Dr Varadharaajan, please let me know at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com. Alternatively, you can reach me in Facebook or Instagram. I use the same name pretty much everywhere so it wont be that hard to find me.

[ENG] Where the Crawdads Sing: Team Tate or Team Chase? Or to hell with both and Team Jumpin'?
Fellow bookworm Li Shan and myself are exploring this marshy world written by debutant novelist Delia Owens, who happens to be an established Zoologist (that ought to give you some ideas as to what this book may entail). And to all the female readers who, after reading this book, lost faith in the entire male sub-species: I do not blame you.
If we missed anything or left out your favourite part of the book, feel free to hit me up.
If you have a book that you like/love or even hate, you can send them to me to know what i think of said book. Email me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com or message me on Facebook if email is too much of a hassle (it is).

[TAMIL] Bhoomi: Anthe magnifying glass vechi tha Corona ke vaccine kande pudichanggelo??? - A review
Massive spoiler alert! I may have ruined a few "gems" for the ones who have yet to watch this movie (in retrospect, you're so lucky). However, if you decide to watch it AFTER listening to this podcast, well, godspeed. To the ones who have already watched this movie, I hope we can share this burden together.

[TAMIL] Thaana Serntha Kootam: Anthe 30 paere yennada panningge?! - A Movie Review (Spoiler Alert!)

[ENG] A Man Called Ove: Tom Hanks or Robert DeNiro? But definitely Carl from Up - A Book Review
This is a heartwarming and feel-good (and often hilarious) novel about love, death and pesky pets written by Fredrik Backman. Fellow bookworm Aqidah and I are gonna talk about some of the things we absolutely loved about this book.
Email me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com if you have any books that you would like reviewed or find me on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/surren.padmanathan.

[ENG] Six of Crows: Harry Potter meets Hunger Games? - A Book Review
My good friend Aqidah and I are gonna go about the thoughts and feelings we had during and after finishing the "teen" fantasy novel Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo (and trying extremely hard to not spoil too much of the book for you). It has bomb blasting, tank driving and eye gouging action with general doses of soul searching. This book is the first part of a duology, the second being the Crooked Kingdom.
If you have more cool things to say about this book (or life in general) mail me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com or message me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/surren.padmanathan.

[TAMIL] Maara: Itheke yellama love varum??? - A Movie Review (SPOILER ALERT)
A no holds barred review of the entire movie Maara, done in Tamil. So, listeners are highly encouraged to tune in AFTER watching the movie as I'm gonna spoil the whole damn movie for you. I'm gonna go through everything I liked and disliked about the movie. So this is my (funny, hopefully) take on the movie Maara.
If you know what Maara would have done if Parvathi was a 60 year old paati then mail me at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com or drop a message on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/surren.padmanathan.

[TAMIL] Andhaghaaram: Dr Indran ke apdi yenna gaandu? - A Movie Review (SPOILER ALERT)
A rundown of what i liked and disliked about the movie Andhagaaram, done in Tamil. Highly encouraged to listen to this episode AFTER watching the movie because spoilers abound. And also because then this episode becomes more of a (funny, hopefully) dialogue between you and me then simply becoming a depressing monologue.
send me an email if you became a fan of Arjun Das as well at surrenpadmanathan@gmail.com or drop by on Facebook athttps://www.facebook.com/surren.padmanathan.
