A few months ago, I saw Roto share some snippets of a side quest he'd been working on: Cyclemental, a take that party card game. I knew of Roto as an insane product designer at Atlassian and I knew of his talent in art, so I dove down the rabbit hole to see what Cyclemental was all about.
I'm lucky to have Roto join me in today's episode to catch up about life after I left Atlassian and what he's been up to: from saas apps, to vibe coding, to furniture, board games and kickstarter campaigns, he's had his hands full. Top that off with a 4month newborn baby and I just had to wonder how he was doing it all and what he was spending his time focused on.
I'm excited about Cyclemental - it's a strategy card game that can be played in short sessions, so it's going to be a hit with my friends I hope!

life after 14 million subscribers | @wengie
The woman with 9 lives, like a cat. I have been blessed to know Wendy aka wengie for a long time now, and I finally got her on the pod to debrief on the many lives she's lived across the past decade. Recently, Wengie was selected to be one of 10 creators inducted into the NSFA creator capsule. This was well-deserved after a crazy rollercoaster of a career so far, from blogging, to Youtube, to music artistry, voice acting and more.
We caught up over matcha and Molly Tea to deep dive into her adventures, lessons learned about content and life, and what it looks like to have a healthy ramp-down from internet stardom. I'm excited to support whatever she ventures to do next, and you can guarantee that even though she's not on your Youtube screens for now, she's doing something new and interesting in her own time.

leaving a stable 9-5 to become an artist | anish @guin.ai
Hi everyone! We're coming to you from a new studio space today - just trying it out at the moment and finding the place that works for us.
I've invited Anish into this space to speak about his journey over the past 2 years after leaving corporate tech to pursue music. Anish and I worked together at Atlassian a couple of years ago, and I've always known for him to be a self-starter and tinkerer, so when he told me he was leaving to pursue his passion in music - I was surprised at first. And even more than that, I was confused on why he decided to quite outright rather than take a sabbatical to pursue this passion (which a lot of people around us were doing at the time).
In this episode, we catch up on his mindset and where his journey has taken him in the last couple of years.
A big thanks to Jasen who reached out and asked for me to speak on this topic of leaving your stable role for something a bit riskier and entrepreneurial. I didn't feel I was qualified but luckily, I knew someone who had done just that!
