Mythic stories reveal humanity's inner conflicts. The classic tension between light and dark parts of ourselves plays out through epic tales of heroes and villains. What inner demons hold us back from realizing our full potential? Can we overcome cycles of pain to forge new purpose? Black Wolf explores these timeless struggles.
S8E8 Part 2 (Casca & Mikasa) Part Two - Grace for Monsters and God With Us
Having heard the first episode, the Black Wolf recorded a response — and this is Casca and Mikasa answering his answer, from a commentary seat, with what God might say back. He confesses he is Jonah: he feels seen by the prophet's rage that monsters get away with it, and he means it when he says fairness is a myth and what people really want is retribution. So they let God reply — Ezekiel's no pleasure in the death of the wicked, the vineyard owner's are you envious because I am generous, and the prodigal son, where Jonah is the elder brother and the Father is pleading with him from outside a party he refuses to enter. They meet his sharpest question, was Jesus suicidal, with care, separating the death-wish of Jonah, Job, and Elijah from a life laid down in love while we were still enemies. They honor his is your heart changed, nope, as the daily death of the ego, dissect Eren and Guts as the men that ego devours, and sit long in the beauty of people who are, themselves, God with us — because sometimes a person, not a book, is where you finally read it

S8E8 Part 2 — Jonah From The Bible Is My Boy, and Greater Love
In this episode of Wolves and Dragons, Dumi riffs on the story of Jonah — not as a Sunday school lesson, but as a raw look at ego, fear, and what it means to be an instrument in a story bigger than yourself. Starting from a casual conversation with his parents, he breaks down why Jonah ran from his calling, why he was disgusted by the people he was sent to save, and what the whale really represents — divine intervention that overrides your resistance, like an Uber you never ordered. Drawing parallels to Eren Yeager's defiance, the humbling of Odysseus, and the daily discipline of getting in the pool when you don't want to, Dumi explores a provocative idea: that the hardest death isn't the heroic sacrifice — it's killing your ego every single day in service of something greater. Whether you're religious or not, this episode challenges you to ask yourself: what calling are you running from, and what whale is already on its way to deliver you exactly where you're supposed to be?

S8E8 (Casca & Mikasa) — What the Book Actually Says: Jonah, Grace for Your Enemies, and the Ego That Won't Die
He ended his Jonah episode by turning to the two voices he built and asking them, by name, to tell him what the book actually says — because he wondered if he was making it up. He was not. Casca and Mikasa take up the invitation, walking his read beat by beat, the real book alongside. Nineveh, they show, is not a corrupt city but the capital of Israel's cruelest enemy — so the scandal is not judgment, it is mercy, and Jonah flees not from fear of death but because he knew God would forgive the people he wanted destroyed. They keep the jokes (a great fish, not a whale; the fish as an Uber) and correct with love: the book never asks Jonah to become a silent instrument — God argues with his ego to the last verse, teaching him with a plant, a worm, and a wind, then leaving him an unanswered question about a hundred and twenty thousand souls. They set his reading, kill your ego for your friends, against the sign of Jonah and the greater One who died and rose. And once, gently, they sit with how God can be with us through a person.
