On each episode I invite a guest to discuss with me a film with a boxing theme. I'll be covering the whole of cinema history, from silent movies through to this century. It's not just Rocky and Raging Bull!
In this episode, returning guest Michael Kronenberg joins me to discuss The Great White Hope (1970) starring James Earl Jones and Jane Alexander.
Michael Kronenberg is an award-winning graphic designer whose clients include the Film Noir Foundation, TwoMorrows Publishing, Kino Lorber, The Ring, Marvel, and more. He was the founder, publisher, and designer of Ringside Seat magazine. He grew up a boxing fan, thanks to his father, who was a professional fighter.

99 River Street
In this episode, Kari Hansbarger joins me to discuss the brilliant boxing film noir, 99 River Street (1953), directed by Phil Karlson, and starring John Payne and Evelyn Keyes.
Kari describes herself as a classic film buff, which was a passion she inherited from mum. She also grew up watching boxing with my father, so this podcast sits right at the intersection of both of those interests. She has been a fan of film noir since she was in college in the 1990s and now co-hosts live film noir watch parties on Bluesky every week.
