The Bridge Church in Glen Carbon, IL exists to share the message of Hope, Purpose and Community for everyone. Here you can find our weekly sermons as we dive into what it means to be Disciples of Jesus.
What if faith does not begin with having all the answers, but simply with being willing to take one honest step closer? In John chapter one, we find a remarkable pattern unfolding as Jesus calls his first disciples. Not one of them has everything figured out. And yet the invitation Jesus extends to every single one of them is the same: come and see. There is something here that speaks directly to where many of us find ourselves, holding questions at arm's length, waiting until we feel certain enough to move. But the invitation being extended to us today is not to have it all figured out. It is simply to come.

From Legion to Light: Choosing Whom You Will Serve
This powerful exploration of Mark 5 takes us into a dramatic encounter between Jesus and a demon-possessed man living among the tombs in the region of the Gerasenes. We're confronted with the raw reality of demonic power and its consuming nature - a man so tormented that chains couldn't hold him, living in isolation, cutting himself with stones, crying out day and night. Yet within this darkness, we discover profound truths about spiritual warfare, redemption, and our calling as believers. The message challenges us to recognize that while this represents an extreme case of demonic possession, we shouldn't fool ourselves into thinking demonic influence isn't at work in our culture and even in our own lives.

Easter Is Personal
This sermon on John 20:1–18 shows that the first Easter began, not with celebration, but with darkness, grief, and confusion. Mary Magdalene comes to the tomb heartbroken, the disciples run there bewildered, and no one is expecting resurrection. As we see Mary and the disciples' interaction with this world shifting event, the heart of the message comes into focus: Easter is not just that Jesus rose, but that the risen Jesus personally knows you, loves you, and calls you into new life with him.
