The Bridge of One is a podcast that seeks to equip the church to embody relational and racial unity under the finished work of our One Lord, through our One Faith , as One Body.
Ephesians 2 is one of the clearest explanations of salvation by Grace Alone through faith alone in Christ Alone. Yet, in the context of Ephesians and Paul’s focus on “power” we must see it another way: how we war in life against “the powers.”
In a day and age when spiritual warfare is often sensationalized we can never disconnect warfare from the redemptive historical working of our sovereign Lord. Our salvation was eternally achieved through the warring of Christ on the cross. Our sanctification is accomplished In the same way: we war by, through and in the cross of Christ.
To war in or by any other way (means) is not only unnecessary but it is unbiblical.
The call then is to rest and war by trusting in Christ’s finished work

When our many problems met our singular and sovereign Lord| EP. 4
What do you do when life hits you hard? What do you do when the floods of despair, doubt, discouragement and double-minded people test your faith and trust in the Lord?
Here is what David teaches: Look away from the “many” and see and trust your Singular Lord.
David turns in prayer to the One who can handle his many foes. There, in the presence of the Creator, he not only finds rest, but resolve and courage to continue despite the noise.
Our only hope against our many problems is trusting the singular God who controls them all!!

Race, Love and Who Is My Neighbor | EP. 22
Love is More than a Feeling
In this episode we take a brief departure from Ephesians to give an application to what we have been considering.
At the heart of Paul’s theology is the unity of the Bride in Christ alone. However, this is being challenged in increasingly intensive ways by the world the flesh and the devil. The church must only think and speak of unity but we must embody a lifestyle that maintains it.
The parable of Jesus which we call the Good Samaritan frames a kind of heart and life dynamic that the church must see as our way of understanding the idea of “neighbor.”
In this episode Sherard will not only give three practical points for the church but will show how the real question is not “Who is my neighbor?” But, the question Jesus highlights is this: Who Proves to Be A Neighbor?
Be encouraged by the gospel as we are challenged to be the gospel!!
