A neighbourhood in London known as ‘Little Cairo’ descended into chaos after the country’s team beat Australia at the World Cup.
Fans clashed with police, climbed double-decker buses and essentially halted traffic while celebrating in Edgware Road.
Police officers were filmed wrestling fans as crowds filled the streets.
The fans made their way between cars and buses while cheering and waving Egyptian flags.
The tense match between Egypt and Australia ended in a penalty shootout, with Egypt winning 4-2.

Convicted murderer Vickrum Digwa is refusing to move from prison
segregation to a wing at HMP Frankland after finding out it was where
Ian Huntley was fatally attacked, according to reports.
The prisoner, who fatally stabbed 18-year-old Henry Nowak in
December 2025, is said to be 'terrified' over the prospect of leaving the
isolated unit. Digwa reportedly refused to go over fears for his safety.
