About The Bygone Brown Podcast

Relive those thrilling days of yesteryear with Bygone Brown. Extensively researched and entertainingly told, with sound effects, music, and the voice talents of The Lyric Players, this series brings to life American and Texas history in the 19th Century from the perspective of Brown County, Texas. Follow the exploits of the pioneers who ventured onto its frontier, the revolutionaries who won it independence, the secessionists who took it to war, the rebels who resisted its reconstruction, the ranchers who built its cattle business, the outlaws who made their living off the good fortune of others, the entrepreneurs who brought it railroads and new markets, and the reformers who tried to save men’s souls. A production of the Brown County Historical Commission and Brownwood’s historic Lyric Theatre, with the cooperation of the Brown County Museum of History, and recorded at the Belle Epoque R.B. Rogers House and Events Venue, Bygone Brown brings Texas history to life!
