How Will Stein turned Oregon blueprint into success for UK football
This episode of The C.L. Brown Show (https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast) features Ryan Black, the Courier Journal's Kentucky beat writer (https://www.courier-journal.com/staff/9244336002/ryan-black/), to discuss one of the biggest games for Kentucky football (https://ukathletics.com/sports/football/) in the last 50 years at Tennessee on Saturday.
Black hints that perhaps no one knows more about why UK coach Will Stein (https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/columnists/c-l-brown/2025/12/03/will-stein-kentucky-vs-louisville-football-rivalry-new-uk-coach-played-for-uofl-governors-cup-game/87574539007/) has been so successful thus far than those who followed his career as Oregon's offensive coordinator. It's where Stein presumably mastered the formula for what it takes to succeed at a high level, including the Ducks' playoff run last season. Black says it also might be part of why Oregon is struggling this season.
Black also says that the off week for UK could come with a "Stein Surprise," a wrinkle or new play on offense installed specifically with the Volunteers in mind.

Jeff Walz, Louisville women's basketball still steady 20 years in
This episode of The C.L. Brown Show (https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast) features Louisville women's basketball (https://gocards.com/sports/womens-basketball) coach Jeff Walz (https://gocards.com/sports/womens-basketball/roster/coaches/jeff-walz/3227) to discuss the upcoming season.
Walz offers a blunt reaction to coaches who complain about the constantly changing landscape of college sports: You can always get another job. Walz is entering his 20th season as Cardinals head coach with the same vigor and approach of his first. He explains why, like many of his peers, he would like some semblance of order to be restored or he fears women's basketball will revert to the past, when only a handful of teams were really competing for the title.
Walz also tells why the Cards' veteran presence has them ahead of schedule entering the start of the regular season.

Flory Bidunga, Adrian Wooley talk UofL basketball's big 2026-27 goals
This episode of The C.L. Brown Show (https://omny.fm/shows/the-c-l-show/playlists/podcast) features Louisville basketball (https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball) players Flory Bidunga (https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/flory-bidunga/18087) and Adrian Wooley (https://gocards.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/adrian-wooley/18079) to discuss the upcoming season.
Bidunga appears to be the biggest personality the Cardinals have had in some time. Beyond the charm and charisma, Bidunga is serious about showing off great leadership skills for UofL. He discusses his decision to leave Kansas for Louisville (https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2026/10/20/flory-bidunga-louisville-basketball-stats-2026-27-kansas-kokomo-indiana-pat-kelsey-dr-congo/91988399007/) and why he believes the move will help him develop skills he hasn't shown off yet.
Wooley tells why the Cards are embracing expectations this season with a goal of returning to the Final Four.
