[…] The cost of meaningful legal access excludes many people. And the goal is to equip responsible humans with better instruments, not necessarily preserve needless inefficiency. So if there's something we can do as lawyers or judges and do it more quickly and more effectively, more accurately with these tools, then then I think we owe it to our clients and to ourselves, frankly, to society to use those tools as long as those criteria are met. And if it's introducing the potential for error, if it's actually outsourcing our judgment and our normative values, then I think that's a place where I would definitely want to draw the line. […]
