EP 22: Navigating Global Conflicts and Their Impact on Canadians

In today’s episode, I reflect on several ongoing global conflicts, including tensions in Iran, the Middle East, and the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).These events may feel distant geographically, but for many Canadians with family, cultural, and historical ties to these regions, the impact can be deeply personal. Global conflicts often resonate within communities here at home, shaping conversations about identity, safety, and belonging.I also explore the broader importance of peace, stability, and diplomacy in maintaining international order. Political stability and peaceful cooperation are closely connected to economic growth, global security, and long-term social development — both abroad and within Canada. Finally, I highlight the importance of seeking balanced and reliable information when following complex global events. In a time when misinformation can spread quickly, thoughtful engagement and responsible dialogue are more important than ever. This episode is an invitation to reflect on how global events connect us all — and why advocating for peace, understanding, and informed perspectives remains essential in an increasingly interconnected world.#GlobalConflicts (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/globalconflicts) #WorldPolitics (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/worldpolitics) #InternationalRelations (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/internationalrelations) #PeaceAndStability (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/peaceandstability)#Iran (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/iran) #MiddleEast (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/middleeast) #DRC (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/drc) #Congo (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/congo)#Canada (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/canada) #CanadianPodcast (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/canadianpodcast) #GlobalAffairs (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/globalaffairs) #DiasporaVoices (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/diasporavoices)#Geopolitics (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/geopolitics) #StayInformed (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/stayinformed) #WorldNews (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/worldnews) #Peace (https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/peace)Ask

EP 21: EP 010 February in Canada Black History Month, Hockey & National Pride

In today’s episode, I provide a reflective summary of February in Canada, focusing on two defining moments: Black History Month and the Winter Olympics. Black History Month in Canada I reflect on the importance of Black History Month as a time of remembrance, education, and meaningful action. Beyond celebration, this month calls us to self-education and to taking small but intentional steps toward promoting equity and inclusion in our communities. I also acknowledge the passing of Reverend Jesse Jackson, a monumental figure in the U.S. civil rights movement, whose legacy continues to inspire conversations around justice, dignity, and equal opportunity across North America. Canada at the Winter Olympics I then turn to the Winter Olympics and reflect on Canada’s performance — especially the men’s and women’s hockey teams. Despite a hard-fought loss to the United States, both teams represented Canada with resilience, professionalism, and pride. Their leadership, diversity, and excellence on the ice serve as powerful examples of representation and national unity. This episode is about reflection, gratitude, and recognition — celebrating history, honouring legacy, and applauding those who continue to represent Canada with strength and character. Thank you for listening. Let’s continue building a Canada rooted in dignity, resilience, and opportunity for all. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackHistoryMonthCanada #Canada #TeamCanada #WinterOlympics #OlympicHockey #CanadaHockey #WomensHockey #MensHockey #CivilRights #JesseJackson #RepresentationMatters #Equity #CanadianIdentity #CanadianPodcast #Canada2026 #Unity #Resilience

EP 20: Canadians Are Tired of the News — Let’s Talk About

This week’s headlines are heavy, and for many of us, exhausting. In this episode, I reflect on recent news stories and explore the growing reality of media fatigue, news overload, and emotional burnout caused by constant exposure to negative media. We talk about why disconnecting from the news is not avoidance, but self-care, the importance of staying present in our daily lives, and how reconnecting with small (and big) moments of joy can help restore balance, clarity, and hope. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or numb from the news cycle, this conversation is an invitation to pause, breathe, and refocus on what truly grounds us. media fatigue, news fatigue, mental health and media, overwhelmed by the news, doomscrolling, information overload, digital wellbeing, disconnecting from social media, mindfulness, staying present, finding joy, self-care in stressful times, emotional burnout, news anxiety, mental wellness podcast, reflective podcast, current events commentary #MediaFatigue #NewsFatigue #MentalHealthMatters #DigitalWellbeing #Mindfulness #StayPresent #FindingJoy #SelfCare #NewsOverload #Doomscrolling #WellnessPodcast #ReflectivePodcast #CurrentEvents #MentalWellness
