In the first episode of Season 2, executive coach Hussein Karaki joins Bilshan Nursimulu to discuss one of the most difficult transitions in any career: moving from expert to leader. Hussein shares insights from years of coaching leaders and executives, including why new managers fail, why leaders stop hearing the truth, how to give feedback that lands, and why listening becomes more important than talking as you become more senior. We discuss the transition from expert to leader, listening, feedback and delegation, why leaders stop hearing the truth, the communication mistakes new managers make, and the difficult conversations many leaders avoid.
