   Finding Purpose in College

College students do not need a five-year plan to find purpose - they need the courage to take the next faithful step. Eric Davis sits down with Anders Estorge for a brutally honest conversation about purpose, calling, and why Christian community matters more than having your whole life figured out. Anders shares how he went from serving at The Wesley to directing Care Portal Integration for the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services, connecting churches and communities to help keep kids out of foster care and support kinship, reunification, and family care across the state. He also opens up about starting seminary and pursuing his MDiv while still learning, listening, and saying yes to the doors God keeps opening. You’ll discover: Why “purpose” can feel overwhelming - and how to reframe it as faithfulness in today’s moment The difference between chasing a big mystical calling and showing up with your gifts, your work, and your whole heart How Christian community, mentors, and friends can reveal gifts you can’t yet see in yourself Why “nobody knows what they’re doing” might be the most freeing truth a college student can hear How small obedient steps can lead to unexpected direction, including a seminary call that arrived at the most surprising time Eric and Anders also unpack Ephesians 2:10 and what it means to begin with what God has already done in you instead of obsessing over what you’re trying to accomplish for Him. The conversation gets practical and personal as Anders explains how prayer, discernment, and surrounding yourself with the right people shape real decisions in college and beyond. If you’re a freshman, transfer student, or anyone staring at the next chapter and feeling behind, this episode is a reset. It is a reminder that you do not need every answer before you obey, and that purpose often becomes clear only after you start walking. Essential listening if you’ve ever wondered, “What am I supposed to do with my life?” - and need encouragement to trust God with the next step instead.

Following Jesus in the Everyday: Building a Life Around Christ

College can make following Jesus feel optional, fragmented, or impossible to sustain - but it does not have to. Eric Davis sits down with his cousin, Evann Davis, for a practical conversation about building a life around Christ in the middle of classes, work, friendships, and total freedom. Evann shares what shaped her most in college: choosing community on purpose, discerning when a group was surface-level, and going all in when she finally found a place to belong. She talks candidly about the pressure of trying to do everything herself, the pride that kept her from asking for help, and the moment she realized spiritual growth often happens through small, ordinary rhythms instead of dramatic overhauls. You’ll hear how she moved from high school and college formation into young adult life in Huntsville, Alabama, where she is navigating a new city, a new church, and new responsibilities while still prioritizing Christian community. Eric and Evann break down what it looks like to let Jesus shape your study habits, weekend choices, work ethic, friendships, and even the way you handle isolation, stress, and disappointment. You’ll discover: Why community is not optional if you want to stay grounded in college How to tell when an environment is not actually helping you grow Why spiritual maturity often comes from gradual habits, not overnight reinvention What it looks like to follow Jesus when no one is watching or holding you accountable The one challenge Evann gives incoming freshmen and transfer students They also unpack Colossians 3:17 and what it means to stop compartmentalizing faith from the rest of life. If you have ever wondered how to keep your faith alive in a busy season, how to find the right people, or how to build rhythms that actually last, this conversation brings clarity, honesty, and a lot of encouragement.Essential listening for college students, young adults, parents, and anyone trying to follow Jesus without losing themselves in the noise.
