Does Jesus Have Dreads?! // The Friends We Keep // S02 EP05

What actually makes someone a good friend? Is it shared interests, years of history, mutual understanding, or the willingness to show up when things get difficult? In this episode of Caves and Rivers, Bernice and Eunice have an honest, thoughtful, and sometimes hilarious conversation about friendship: how it begins, why it matters, and what it takes to build relationships that go beyond convenience and common interests. From adult friendships and unexpected connections to difficult conversations, accountability, and the pressure to maintain lifelong relationships, they explore what it means to love people well through different seasons of life. They also reflect on the biblical picture of friendship, the character of God, and how healthy relationships can shape us, challenge us, and draw us closer to Jesus. Because maybe friendship isn't about finding people who understand us perfectly, but learning how to grow together despite our imperfections. Join the conversation, and share this episode with a friend. Key themes explored Mutuality: Why friendship requires more than shared interests or proximity. Making friends as adults: How friendships begin and why new connections can become harder to establish. Divine connections: Recognizing God's involvement in the friendships we develop. Friendship and accountability: Why genuine love sometimes requires uncomfortable conversations. Disposable friendships: Have we become too quick to walk away when relationships become inconvenient? Seasonal versus lifelong friendships: Understanding that a friendship ending does not necessarily invalidate its value. Friendship with Jesus: Exploring intimacy, trust, obedience, and His lordship. The Discipleship Gap // Deciphering Discipleship Pt. 2// S02 EP04

What does real discipleship look like? Bernice and Eunice explore why sermons, Christian content, and occasional conversations cannot replace the kind of relationship we see throughout Scripture. They unpack discipleship through three ideas—modeling, intimacy, and submission—and discuss the vulnerability, trust, obedience, and proximity required to genuinely help another person follow Jesus. They also wrestle with the modern discipleship gap: What happens when you cannot find someone to disciple you? What if you do not feel qualified to disciple anyone else? And where does the Holy Spirit fit into all of this? A reflective conversation about following Jesus, learning from others, and becoming the kind of believer whose life can be imitated.

Wait, 76% of Christians Have Never Been Discipled?! // Deciphering Discipleship Pt. 1 // S02 EP03

What does it really mean to be a disciple? Is discipleship something we pursue, or something we're invited into? In this episode, Bernice and Eunice wrestle with the biblical model of discipleship, the surprising statistic that 76% of Christians say they've never been discipled, and the tension between salvation and spiritual formation. It's an honest, thought-provoking conversation that raises more questions than answers—and sets the stage for Part 2.

At His Word // When God Asked Me to Move to a New City // S02 EP02

In this episode, Eunice and Bernice talk about obedience: the kind that is uncomfortable, inconvenient, and sometimes hard to understand. What starts as a funny conversation about discovering their “Type A” tendencies turns into a deeper reflection on delayed obedience, partial obedience, and the struggle to trust God’s instruction without always needing the full explanation. Together, they discuss what it means to live “at His word,” how obedience reveals our love for God, and why following God may look like going, stopping, texting, calling, staying silent, or moving before everything makes sense. Resources Mentioned/Scriptures Referenced Bernice referenced the teaching “ A teaching from 1 Chronicles and the life of King David” from the podcast Obedience as Worship. 1 Samuel 15:22–23; Matthew 4:4; Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 8:5–13; Luke 7:1–10; 1 Samuel 30:8; John 14:15; John 14:21; Genesis 12:1–4; Genesis 22:1–19; 1 Kings 13; Acts 23:11; Acts 27:21–26; Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19.

Sooo... Are We Saved or Nahhh?! // S01 EP02

In this episode of Caves and Rivers, Bernice and Eunice tackle one of the biggest topics in the Christian walk—salvation. They share their own stories of being saved (yes, the awkward moments included) and what it’s been like growing in faith since then. The conversation takes on sanctification (a fancy word for becoming more like Jesus), why a works-based mindset will wear you out so fast, and what “rededication” really means when you’ve drifted but need a reset with God. It’s a mix of honesty, laughter, and scripture as they unpack how salvation is both a moment and a lifelong journey—powered by grace, not performance. So grab your headphones (and maybe a snack) and join the convo. You might just find yourself nodding, laughing, and reflecting on your own salvation story too.
