Warren Norman explains his vote for Democrat Annie Andrews over Graham.

Full TranscriptCharlie James: Got about 53 minutes. Early voting for today, they will be open up again tomorrow, and then, absent of that, you are going to be voting on Tuesday. One of the big races, of course, as we've been talking about, is the Senate race between Darling Graham and Annie Andrews. Warren Norman is the son of Ralph Norman. He penned an article over on FITSNews not long ago, and he joins us right now. Mr. Warren, welcome to the program. I hope you're doing well. Warren Norman: Doing great, Charlie. How you doing? Appreciate you having me. Charlie James: Yes, sir. Warren Norman: First-time caller, first-time caller. Charlie James: First—I'll give you the bell. There you go. All right. So, let me ask you—I mean, why are you, according to that article, why are you voting for the—for a Democrat the first time in a partisan race, first time in your life? Warren Norman: Yeah, it definitely is the first time in my life. I mean, I am a conservative as conservative as probably most of your listeners. And, you know, this is a tough one. I think a lot of what, you know, I've been hearing and consistently hear even from, say, Adam Morgan, who you were talking about earlier, who I really like—I love Adam Morgan, he's a great guy—but we just differed on this particular issue because all anybody's talking about is how bad Annie Andrews is. And, in my opinion, are stretching the truth to a degree of what her positions are that she has has stated. And nobody's talking about Darling Graham. And my my easy answer to this is I'm a firm believer that if Darling Graham gets in this seat, she holds this seat for a very long time. And I just weigh the difference between holding someone accountable that has thought, that's going on shows, that's speaking her mind versus someone who is not, who's ducking, who has been handpicked by the Republican establishment to—that that I fear they're going to be in there. I mean, my my biggest question for you and the listeners is: How did that work out with Lindsey Graham? I mean, we couldn't get Lindsey Graham out of that seat. Charlie James: Well, that's because nobody—that's because Lindsey Graham benefited from where he fell in in the the the slate of senators. He was always elected during a a non-presidential primary. Warren Norman: I would argue it's money. Charlie James: Okay, well—Warren Norman: And so—Charlie James: Well, she doesn't have that money. Warren Norman: She doesn't now, but she will in six years. Charlie James: Okay, well, let me ask—let me ask you something. Why do you think it would be harder to get rid of Darling Graham than it would be Annie Andrews? Warren Norman: Because when the when the money and the Republican establishment has a candidate that will do whatever they want, there is no way they're going to not pump millions and millions and millions of dollars in to support her, not only through what she can raise over the next six years, and then they will destroy any candidate who dares challenge her in a primary. It just That's how it works, and we've seen how this works. And I am fed up with it. Charlie James: So you think—you think Annie Andrews would be easy to get rid of in six years, even though even though we have just found out, Citadel did did a survey, that she's got over 50% support from people moving here over the past five years, and people are More people are moving here every single day, and and the demographics of South Carolina are going to be changing dramatically over the next six years? Warren Norman: Well, I believe that as you look in other races, I think that we are a conservative state, and I hope we remain a conservative state, and I believe that we will. I mean, I believe South Carolina values are conservative values. Those are my values, which is why it's weird that I am in this position. But but yes, if she does not do what she says she's get she is doing, if she is the radical that everyone is saying that she ...

Host Charlie James debates caller views on socialism, taxes, and race.

Full TranscriptCharlie James: To the phones we go. We'll talk to Clark in Indian Land. How you doing, Clark? Clark: Hey, Charlie. How you doing? Charlie James: I'm good, man. What's up? Clark: Um, you know, just thinking about, you know, why young people, you know, gravitate towards the Democratic socialists is because I really think, man, that, you know, the current system in place has just proven itself to be so crooked and corrupt nonstop. You look at all the all the fraud they constantly uncover, the taxes we pay, the interest rates through the roof, the inflation—like, I think people just I mean, they've never experienced socialism, they don't know how bad it can be, but I think they're having the standpoint of, "Let's try anything else." And that's all I've got. Charlie James: But this is it. I mean, it's I appreciate it, Clark. Thank you. It's been such a great advertising campaign, and that's all it is. "Everything's going to be free. Everybody's going to be equal." And these students have had it pounded into their heads since they were in kindergarten, and everybody took all of their school supplies and put them in the little wading pool, and if you needed something, you go get something. Although some kids didn't put anything in, and some kids put a lot in. This is what they've been taught from day one behind their parents' backs. Let's go to Lisa in Williamston. What's going on, Lisa? Lisa: Hi, Charlie. I wish you'd get Ellen Weaver for Superintendent of Education back on. Charlie James: Okay. Lisa: I really like her. I just got my property tax bill, and the taxes are way too high. Charlie James: Yeah. Lisa: And and then and then we have we have the taxes, we have the lottery for education. Charlie James: Yeah. Right. Lisa: Hopefully Hopefully, Ellen will get rid of some of the bureaucracy and the people we didn't even vote for. I think there's just too many people involved in education and they're not educating. Charlie James: You are exactly right. I would I would love to see the ratio—I appreciate it, Lisa—of administrators to educators. It's exorbitant. It really is. Well, ladies and gentlemen, last night, for the first time ever, this happened: Announcer [audio clip]: 2-1 pitch. Palacios grounds one softly. Unshakeable! Unstoppable! And champions at last, the Milwaukee Brewers! Charlie James: So, the Milwaukee Brewers are now the world champions of Major League Baseball uh for the first time ever. Good job, Milwaukee Brewers! But uh that's not really why I brought that up. But because what I was getting to is during the World Series last night, an ad played. And I want you to listen to this ad. Narrator 1 [political ad]: If you are in this country, and you are not Black, you benefit from a system of white supremacy. Speaker [political ad]: Our country should be more fearful um of of of white men. Everything is about race. Narrator 2 [political ad]: Today's liberals are full of hate. They hate America. They're obsessed with skin color. I can't even show my face because my skin is white, and they'll spew hate at me. Hate leads them to racism. Liberals are the new racists. Charlie James: Oh, yeah. Oh. Oh, no, no, no, no. They're not the new racists. Now, I agree with the ad 100%. But they're not the new racists. They have historically been the racists. They were the ones I mean Democrat states, unfortunately, were the slave states. Joe Biden said that: Delaware was a slave state, it was a Democrat state. A Republican president signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was the Democrats who gave birth to the Ku Klux Klan. It was the Democrats that gave birth to Jim Crow laws, to Bull Connor, and all of those folks. It was the Democrats that did that. This is part of their story. It's part of their history. Hell, it's part of their DNA. But they don't want to hear that. They don't want to hear that. I was um There's an old older gentleman, he was uh he was 90 years old, 91 year ...

Charlie James warns of rising socialist appeal ahead of the 2028 race.

Patriotic Opening & Economic Numbers: The segment begins with recorded renditions of the Pledge of Allegiance and America the Beautiful, punctuated by a soundbite proclaiming that "America is back". Charlie James enters celebrating a reported 3.4% GDP growth rate, describing it as an undeniably strong economic marker. DSA Strategy & 2028 Speculation: James pivots to long-term national politics, asserting that political organizations are already positioning themselves for 2028. He argues that the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) intend to mount a serious presidential run, pointing to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as their primary figurehead and referencing coverage from left-leaning publications regarding convention efforts to draft her. Critique of Annie Andrews & Party Alignment: James revisits a past interview with South Carolina candidate Dr. Annie Andrews, recalling that when pressed on whether she endorsed the Democratic Socialists of America, she described the party as a "big tent" where everyone is welcome. James characterizes this response as welcoming extreme ideological factions into mainstream governance. Polling on Youth & Socialism: To demonstrate shifting cultural attitudes, James cites a 2025 Heartland/Rasmussen survey indicating that over half of young, likely voters favor seeing a democratic socialist in the White House, with noticeable support even extending across party lines among younger Republicans and moderates. He attributes this trend to an absence of historical knowledge about the economic failures of socialist regimes, arguing that young voters mistakenly equate socialist policy with universal abundance rather than inevitable shortages. Listener Interaction: John from Spartanburg calls in to ask when public schools ceased teaching the negative consequences of communism and socialism. James contends that the shift began decades ago with the formation of the federal Department of Education and the rise of left-leaning academia. The caller and host conclude by debating whether figures like Ocasio-Cortez hold broader national appeal than other prominent Democratic leaders before heading into a commercial break.
