The Christian Jung

About The Christian Jung

Christian contemplation meets the depths of the soul. The Christian Jung is a podcast about contemplative prayer, the Christian mystics, and the inner life, hosted by Angela Meer, an ordained minister with graduate degrees in Jungian studies. Each episode draws from Scripture, the Desert Fathers and Mothers, saints like Teresa of Ávila and John of the Cross, and Carl Jung's map of the psyche to help you meet God in silence, in dreams, and in the hidden places of the heart. Theology leads, and psychology serves. You'll find practices you can actually pray, like the Jesus Prayer, Lectio Divina, Visio Divina, and praying with your dreams, along with honest teaching on shadow, healing, and discernment. For weekly articles and guided practices, visit angelameer.com. It's time to awaken holy wonder.

Dreams as a Practice in Art: How Dreams and Art Both Awaken Your Soul to Jesus

AI can already outsmart us on the Bible, on exegesis, on historical and archaeological findings, on nearly every methodology you could name. This is week ten of our ten-week series on the dreaming life, and it closes the arc somewhere I did not expect to land. About a year ago I was studying Carl Jun...

Becoming God's Clay: Interpreting Dreams as a Way for God to Shape your Soul

I once had a dream that took fifteen years to interpret and twenty years to come true. I knew the moment I woke that it mattered. I took it to every trusted counselor I had, and not one interpretation ever rang true. Today, on episode 19 of the season, we finally arrive at interpretation. This episode is week nine of our ten-week series on the dreaming life, and it explains something you may have noticed: I built the entire foundation of dream interpretation before I ever taught interpretatio...

Post-Dream Formation: Continuing the Conversation From a Dream

What do you actually do after a dream ends? Most of us write it in a journal, or worse, let it float away with our morning coffee. Today we talk about what happens next, the three-step sequence that turns a single dream image into months of real spiritual formation. This episode continues our ten-week series on the dreaming life by walking through nepsis, the Desert Fathers' practice of paying attention, synchronicity, Carl Jung's term for meaningful coincidence developed alongside physicist ...
