The Mid-Terms, Middle East, and the Christian’s Calling

Send us Fan MailGUEST: ROD D. MARTIN, Philosopher Capitalist, The Rod Martin ReportWhen Donald Trump made his unlikely political comeback to win the presidency for a second, nonconsecutive term in 2024, many Christians and conservatives hoped America would return to sanity for years to come. Two years later, while many of the anti-God, anti-America policies of the Biden administration have been curtailed, the movement determined to undermine Christian and constitutional principles is champing at the bit to wrest control of Congress from Republicans and make Trump’s final two years in office as difficult as possible.Meanwhile, a war-turned-standoff with Iran continues to create instability in the Middle East, contributing to higher gas prices at home and fueling anti-Israel sentiment abroad. Unrest in France and other European countries, including clashes involving Islamist and far-left movements, raises troubling questions about what could happen in America if similar ideologies gain greater influence. In the midst of all this, many Evangelical churches continue on with “regular programming” as if ignoring the issues that oppose God and Scripture and impact our lives is preferable to informing congregants how to think and engage, the least of which to vote for the better of two options. Our guest this weekend, Rod D. Martin, believes Christians are called not to passivity but to be what Scripture commands—salt and light for the gospel and truth—not just within the walls of the church but in every sphere of society, including politics.Rod has a distinguished background in putting those convictions into practice. He is founder and CEO of Martin Capital and The Rod Martin Report, a technology entrepreneur, geopolitical analyst, and author of several books, including Trump’s New World Re-Order: Dismantling the Deep State and Ending Postwar Globalist Rule. He was part of PayPal’s startup team, has served on the board of the Center for Security Policy, co-founded the Conservative Baptist Network, and served on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention.Join us this weekend as we discuss the midterm elections, turmoil in the Middle East, and why Christians must stand firm, speak truth, and remain faithful until Christ returns. Imprisoned Over George Floyd. Set Free by Jesus Christ

Send us Fan MailGUEST: TOU THAO, former Minneapolis police officerNo one woke up on May 25, 2020 anticipating the country was about to change, that cities were soon to burn, and that the Marxist woke movement, including Black Lives Matter and Defund the Police, were going to take off. But that’s what happened when George Floyd, a drug-user with a long criminal history was arrested after passing a counterfeit $20 bill at a Minneapolis market. With methamphetamine and a high level of fentanyl in his system, Floyd resisted arrest for over ten minutes, leading to one of the four officers, Derek Chauvin, employing the department-approved Maximal Restraint Technique (MRT), where the suspect is handcuffed face down and the officer’s knee is placed on the upper back near the neck in order to subdue the suspect until emergency medical services (EMS) arrive.Video of a white police officer with his knee holding down a prone black man for nine minutes crying out “I can’t breathe” and calling for his mother spread like wildfire across social media. When EMS finally arrived, Floyd was loaded in to the ambulance and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The narrative was instantly cemented—police brutality and systemic racism.According to the documentary, The Fall of Minneapolis, produced by Alpha News, the official autopsy showed that Floyd died of cardiac arrest, with the drugs in his system as a contributing factor, rather than solely from the restraint technique used by Chauvin. No matter—a perfect storm had been whipped up in order to make political gains.Minneapolis burned with riots night after night. The 3rd police precinct was abandoned and torched by rioters. Riots spread to 140 cities across the country leading to the largest civil unrest damages in U.S. history. One of the four Minneapolis police officers on scene that day was Tou Thao. Thao never touched Floyd but instead kept bystanders at bay. All four officers would be jailed and charged—Thao with “aiding and abetting” murder. Thao was sentenced to over five years in prison, serving three. Now released, Tou Thao joins us to tell us about the George Floyd incident and how God providentially and graciously used the miscarriage of justice against Thao to bring him to saving faith in Christ.---------------------To discover what the media and justice system never told you about George Floyd’s death and the subsequent riots, watch The Fall of Minneapolis documentary. The Radicalization of Young Women

Send us Fan MailGuest: David Mitzenmacher, Associate Pastor, Grace Baptist Church, FLStudies are showing what you are likely seeing with your own eyes—women, particularly younger women, are “radicalizing” in their worldview. In other words, moving away from a biblical worldview.Who was prominent on the front lines against ICE as they arrested illegal immigrants in Minnesota? Women. Who was standing outside the courthouse cheering on Lindsay Clancy during the trial for murdering her three children? Women.Of course these examples are anecdotal. But the data is not. A social media post showed the graph of a Gallup poll plotting the political ideology of young men and young women. The headline states: “Women have moved radically leftward, at a scale and speed with no modern precedent, while men have, on the whole, remained largely steady and unchanged. The partisan gap between young men and women almost doubled in the past 25 years.”The radicalization of young women is not simply taking place in politics; it’s moving professing Christian women in evangelical churches to take moral positions at odds with Scripture. In his recent column titled, “We Need to Talk about the Radicalization of Young Women,” David Mitzenmacher, chairman of Founders Ministries and pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral Florida, writes: “Young Christian women are consistently more supportive of abortion, same-sex marriage, and broader LGBTQ+ acceptance than their male peers.”What is driving this leftward shift? What can women do to fortify themselves against the internal and external pressures to conform to the world? What should pastors, parents, and husbands be doing?David Mitzenmacher joins us this weekend to discuss this troubling development that seeks to destroy God’s wise and wonderful design for women.
