About The Civilian Clinician

The Civilian Clinician exists because nobody handed me a guidebook. As a therapist, military spouse, and former VA clinician, I've spent years helping veterans and military families navigate experiences that many civilian providers never learn about in school. Somewhere along the way, I realized a lot of clinicians want to help—they just don't always know where to start. This podcast is where we bridge that gap. We'll talk about military culture, PTSD, moral injury, deployment, family life, transition to civilian life, and all the complicated human stuff that happens in between. Expect practical education, real-world stories, occasional ADHD-fueled tangents, and plenty of reminders that you don't have to wear a uniform to understand the people who do.
