Halloween celebrated as a night of costumes, pumpkins and sweets, didn't start that way. It grew slowly over hundreds of years, shaped by old harvest customs, church traditions, folk stories and, in the end, plenty of shopping. This episode traces how it became the celebration so many people know today. Some of what feels ancient turns out to be much newer than you'd expect, and some of the history is still debated. We also look at how it's seen in Nigeria, where some people like it and others want nothing to do with it.

How a Touchscreen Works
You put on a thick glove on and try to operate your phone and nothing happens. You take it off, and you're able to use the phone straight away. Why? Not because your phone can feel you at all. It only feels electricity. In this episode we work out how a sheet of glass knows where your finger is. We also look at why Samsung's S Pen and the Apple Pencil and how they work. And we deal with the belief that a touchscreen phone needs blood of life to work. Spoiler: it doesn't, and there's a simple test you can try at home with a pencil and some foil.
