This show focuses on the TSR Marvel Super Heroes RPG, especially the Basic Revised Rules. If you grew up with the yellow Universal Table and FASERIP on your character sheet, you’re in the right place. On the podcast we talk rules, house tweaks, villains, adventure ideas, and how to keep this game alive at your table today.
Vince, Rick, and The Geoff crack open the mail bag for a full Q&A show. They tackle Flargon’s question about running a cowboy themed FASERIP campaign with horseback rules that actually feel dangerous, then jump into Esper Ranger’s request for holiday one shots you can prep fast and run in a single night.
They also answer Throwing Toasters and walk through a concrete Martial Arts combat example, step by step, so you can finally see how the maneuvers play at the table instead of just reading the column. Chris checks in with a question about current FASERIP clones, what the crew thinks of them, and whether there is any real chance of the original style game returning for new players.
Villain of the Week is the Leader, with Rick taking point on how to use him as the mind behind your campaign’s biggest plots and bad decisions. Classic FASERIP rules are on deck as always, pulled straight from the Basic Revised material.

Vince, Rick, and The Geoff crack open the blue Basic Revised Rule Book and take the vehicle rules on page 42 for a spin. They break down how Control, Speed, Body, and Armor actually work at the table, who rolls what during tight turns and risky maneuvers, and how to handle chases, terrain, bad weather, and brutal crashes without slowing the game to a crawl.
Villain of the Week is Bonebreaker, a cybernetic madman who turns any city street into a war zone. The crew talks about how to drop him into your campaign, how he fights, and why he is perfect for high impact vehicle scenes.
You will also hear some talk about the future of the show, how often episodes might drop, and what other material from the Basic Revised Rules they want to cover, from modules to more villains. Questions or comments, hit the inbox at AsktheDM@theEvilDM.com (mailto:AsktheDM@theEvilDM.com)
