Forbidden Science explores conspiracy theories, forbidden knowledge, suppressed technology, and classified research that challenge official narratives. Each episode investigates secret experiments, hidden discoveries, controversial theories, and unexplained phenomena through a structured, documentary-style approach. Examining evidence, patterns, and restricted information, the podcast explores what happens when science crosses boundaries the public was never meant to see.

The Montauk Project: Mind Control, Time Travel and the Science Behind the Legend
The Montauk Project legend claims that secret work at Camp Hero and Montauk Air Force Station on Long Island produced technologies for mind control, psychic amplification, memory manipulation, and travel through time. Its best-known public source is the 1992 book The Montauk Project: Experiments in Time, written by Preston B. Nichols with Peter Moon. The book connected a real military radar installation to alleged experiments involving electromagnetic systems and a purported psychic participant, Duncan Cameron.
This episode tests that story against the records that exist. Camp Hero was real. Its coastal-defense role, later radar mission, and transfer to New York State are documented. The Central Intelligence Agency's MKULTRA behavioral-research program was also real, and a 1977 Senate hearing showed that important records had been destroyed. But neither fact establishes a link between MKULTRA and Montauk.
The scientific comparison is equally important. Microwave pulses can create an auditory sensation under defined experimental conditions. Magnetic stimulation can induce currents in targeted brain tissue. Relativity can produce measurable differences in clock rates. None of those demonstrated effects shows that a radar station could remotely command thoughts, erase memories, or send people into the past.
The unresolved question is historical rather than mystical: could undisclosed activity have occurred at the site? Possibly, as with many former military facilities. But the available record contains no authenticated Montauk experiment log, calibrated dataset, independently verified apparatus, personnel record, or replicated extraordinary result.

The Simulation Hypothesis: Can Physics Test Whether Reality Is Artificial?
In 2012, physicists Silas Beane, Zohreh Davoudi, and Martin Savage asked whether one specific kind of simulated universe could leave a measurable trace. Their proposal did not claim that reality had been proven artificial. Instead, it assumed a universe computed on a spatial lattice, similar to numerical grids used in particle physics, and asked whether ultra-high-energy cosmic rays could reveal that structure.
The crucial measurement already existed. The HiRes and Pierre Auger observatories had found that the flux of the highest-energy cosmic rays falls sharply above roughly four times ten to the nineteenth electron volts. Beane, Davoudi, and Savage showed that this observation could constrain the spacing of a particular lattice model. They also proposed a more distinctive test: a grid might break rotational symmetry, leaving a directional pattern in the sky.
But the cosmic-ray suppression had a major established physical explanation decades before simulation theory entered the discussion. In 1966, Kenneth Greisen, Georgiy Zatsepin, and Vadim Kuzmin predicted that extreme-energy particles would lose energy while crossing cosmic background radiation. Later observatory data supported a real suppression, while Auger’s measured large-scale dipole pointed toward an extragalactic origin rather than a cubic computational grid.
This episode examines Nick Bostrom’s philosophical argument, the cosmic-ray measurements, quantum-eraser claims, proposed simulation tests, and the difference between testing a defined model and proving reality is artificial. No documented record shows that these investigations were banned, classified, or deliberately obstructed.

The Dolphin House Experiment: The Disturbing Attempt to Teach a Dolphin Human Speech
In 1965, Margaret Howe Lovatt recorded repeated speech lessons with Peter, a young bottlenose dolphin living with her in a partially flooded laboratory on St. Thomas. On surviving quarter-inch tapes, Lovatt slowly models phrases including “Hello, Margaret,” while Peter produces responsive vocalizations that some listeners interpret as attempts at imitation.
The recordings and photographs confirm that the extraordinary live-in experiment happened. They do not establish that Peter learned English, understood grammar, or used human words with demonstrated meaning. The project also crossed ethical boundaries: Peter’s sexual behavior repeatedly disrupted the work, Lovatt later described manually relieving his arousal, and John C. Lilly administered LSD to other dolphins at the institute. Lovatt said Peter did not receive the drug.
After funding and institutional support collapsed, Peter was transferred to a Miami facility and died within weeks. Lilly told Lovatt that Peter had “committed suicide,” but the surviving public record does not establish Peter’s medical cause of death or intention.
This episode separates the recordings from the interpretations, the documented history from later sensational accounts, and the real cognitive capacities of dolphins from claims the evidence cannot support.
