[…] We just had the major announcement in Iraq of U.S. troops leaving their Syria. We've left most of the bases in Syria quietly, but we've done that. I know the administration and the president himself has been actively trying to message that the war with Iran is wrapping up or closing up. I think this is somewhat of a political play by the administration to claim that Trump is ending the forever wars and that now with U.S. troops leaving, who fills that security void? And to me, the only two major players in the Middle East that the administration is looking at are Turkey and Israel. I think the administration wants to put them both in charge of being the police officers for the region to help them with counterterrorism efforts, especially with ISIS, in particular in Syria. […]
