[…] Also, I went to Louisiana to his hometown and went through the microfiche files of his hometown paper, found out things about it, you know, when his high school days and he was the valedictorian of his class, for example. And that's how he ended up in Washington. The FBI was recruiting smart kids. And they recruited him and moved up here at the age of 17. So just various sources of all kinds. And I also interviewed a lot of his hometown people that knew him when he was young. So that's how it all happened. Well, and that brings up an important point, I think, is that when Tom first started to really seriously think about writing a biography of Buzz, those folks were still around. […]
