[…] In fact, all the states and territories, except for Queensland, condemned us online saying you have done the wrong thing. But we make no apologies for putting safety first. It must be the paramount consideration. And I just can't believe it's controversial. Why would you not consider the safety of a child above all other matters? Well, that's the thing. What's controversial about putting the safety of a vulnerable and defenseless child at the top of your priority it shouldn't matter race it shouldn't matter religion it shouldn't matter skin color it's all to do with a child who simply cannot defend themselves absolutely and you've got to say that children are our future I'm a strong supporter of that right through education and training and we need to make sure that they're safe some of these children are put in situations caused by their parents or their family or their community No blame for themselves at all.
