[…] So in 2021, the Sunbelt had only 0.7 percentage points of higher vacancy compared to national. But today it's 2.6 percentage points, a much wider spread. Right. Now, as we mentioned, there's also a wide range of vacancy rates within Sunbelt cities. So if we divide the broad Sunbelt into those three different regions, the southwest, the south central and the southeast, then new patterns begin to emerge. So before we're getting to those subregional patterns, it's probably worth mentioning some states included in each one of those subregions. The Southwest includes states like Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas, since it sits at the western tip of Texas. […]
