[…] So if someone has a stronger, more robust muscle, it's going to be increasing bone density in that person over time. It's not necessarily like you have to do very intense plyometrics even though they help from a ground reaction force standpoint. It's that we need to just train this person like a normal athlete with some plyometrics and some heavy lifting. And if we get the muscle really, really strong, then we know the bones going to be strong. And I think another study that I was looking at was showing this in runners where if you measure their calf growth, for every centimeter increase in calf growth, there's a pretty substantial decrease in the risk of that person developing a bone stress injury.
