[…] We're not targeting these skills in isolation. We're really thinking about generalization from the start and embedding in activities that are relevant to a student's school day. They are being lectured at for hours and hours a day, and they have to be able to comprehend that information. By using this framework, we give them those frameworks for organizing that information and how then being able to give them a bunch of language-rich activities to target their goals as well. So the modifications that we make across the five steps, step one is called pre-story knowledge activation. I would just change it to be like pre-reading knowledge activation. […]
