[…] So what's clear in this case is what we could call the hindsight problem of psychiatry. which obviously we know this idea hindsight is 20-20, it's much easier to look at a case when you know that the bad thing has happened and look at the warning signs and say, hey, there was this warning sign, there was that warning sign. So in the trial, you have, you know, Lindsay's relative saying, oh, I was worried that she wasn't like herself. I was worried about paranoia. You can forensically analyze each of the appointments that she's had. The truth is, in psychiatry, when it comes to these low probability events like suicide and homicide, you really are looking for a needle in a haystack. […]
