The defense says SLED's own worksheets show male DNA. on both of Maggie's hands. YSTR testing, a method designed to isolate male DNA specifically, was never performed. A CODIS upload was never done. Someone else's DNA was under Maggie's fingernails. And for five years, the agency investigating her murder never ran the test that could identify whose it was, or at least see maybe whose it was. In August of 26, Judge Deborah McCaslin ordered independent testing by Orthum, a forensic DNA lab, over SLED's objection. […]
