[…] And I think what I'm getting at is there is something to the idea that if you have some mechanical aptitude or you can use your hands in a way to construct or fix things, that gives you a different type of confidence. It's almost an apocalyptic content. You think, you know, if everything went wrong, if the electricity went out, if the water went out, I can still survive. But the people who can't do that, and I'm not saying they're not important, they're vital. I think classics is one of the most wonderful, or English literature, or any of the disciplines in the academic, but it does mean that you're absolutely, you're at the top of a pyramid, so to speak, and you don't know what's going on, and you would not know how to survive one day.
