[…] And so it's just really funny that it ended up propagating. This book full of epistolary research and documentation of a much bigger phenomenon. That's exactly what happened to Carrie. Exactly what happened to Carrie. But I feel the filler of the epistolary sections, all of these biographies, especially our narrator, who's a great mystery. The narrator of sort of these said chunks about Carrie is, I think even though it is filler, it's useful and it's not a bad thing and it all serves a wonderful purpose. I think it also highlights King's talent for writing about small town folk, small towns in general. random characters taking spotlight and having a significant impact, the town drunk, the local cop, the fireman, the church lady.
