Despite growing awareness, stigma and misconceptions about mental health, particularly schizophrenia and psychosis, persist, underscoring the need for greater understanding and support. Medical insurance, which Dr. Meyer is more of the expert on that than I am, but we don't have parity of treatment. If you come in with a heart condition, there is a treatment for you and you're going to get that. If you come in with this severe mental health condition, maybe you'll get released, maybe you'll get care. It's not treated the same way. It's not understood in the same way.
