Odesa, Ukraine Owner and teacher in social dance school "Imas Latin Dance" Yes, I could stay with my family in Poznan, but now I am ready to live in a warehouse if it'll help me return to a peaceful Ukraine, to my husband and my son. Yurii Kucherenko 35 y.o. Kyiv, Ukraine Head of business line in a leasing company As a business person, I understand how difficult it is to set up all the processes in a very short time. The center succeeded. I am also surprised by the scale of support for Poles. And in general, foreigners are impressed who, like us, don`t want to put up with injustice in Ukraine.

7: Tom Beach, Natalia Korop

“Here I Am” project. Volunteers’ stories Story No. 10 Tom Beach 43 y.o. Northhampton, UK Solution consultant in a bank We want Ukraine to remain at the news top in the UK. Something happens, and information about the war is gradually fading. We hope the tragic news will disappear because Ukraine will win. But we also understand that the war and its consequences are not a short-term fix. After all, many million people have left Ukraine. They need to go back to their restored homes. And we must continue to support Ukraine. “Here I Am” project. Volunteers’ stories Story No. 11 Natalia Korop 45 y.o. Atlanta, USA Financial advisor I came to the Help Ukraine Center. Here I’ve met Ukrainians who don’t remember life in the Soviet Union or want to forget it. New generation fighting for their future and the future of their children. And I want to help them in this fight.

Story No. 7 (Ukrainian below) Valeria Goloschapova 31 y.o. Kyiv, Ukraine Financier in an IT company I was born and raised in the Luhansk region and spent most of my childhood with my grandmother in Mariupol. In 2014, Russian troops occupied my house. Eight years later, the war reached me in Kyiv. Russia destroyed my home for the second time. I won’t allow them to do it for the third time. Story No. 8 Dmytro Samsonov 49 y.o. Dnipro, Ukraine Co-owner of a coffee company Almost every Ukrainian we got to various Polish cities from the border immediately asked for a job. This surprised me. Nobody wanted to sit around waiting for welfare. Poles also fascinate me: the residents of the small Lublin alone already provided Ukrainians with 1,500 apartments and brought humanitarian aid, money, and food. Story No. 9 Anton Hnybida 34 y.o. Erbil, Iraq Businessman russia challenged not only Ukraine but civilization itself. Already, our victory is an obvious fact. However, in this war, Ukrainians die most of all. Therefore, I want to focus on minimizing the loss of human life. Everything physical, we will rebuild it after Ukraine wins.

‘Here I Am’ project. Volunteers’ stories Story #1 Andriy Stavnitser 39 y.o. Odesa, Ukraine Entrepreneur, co-owner and Director of TIS port Help Ukraine Center founder Volunteering allows me to numb the insane pain that I feel after seeing photos of dead bodies, injured children and adults. We can rebuild bridges and highways, but how do we heal a soul? Be brave like Ukraine is a statement that describes today’s Ukraine and Ukrainians: everyone who defends the country both on the frontline and the homefront e.g. saves dogs, feeds people hiding in basements, plants crops under bombings… It’s impossible to defeat Ukraine. We have already won this war by showing that we fight for our independence and that we are doing it successfully. #HUC_Here_I_am

'Here I Am' project. Volunteers' stories Iryna Derevianko - 25 y.o. Kyiv, Ukraine Investment banker My strong suit is problem-solving. That's what I do here. First, I talked to the customs, then donors. Now, I deal with receiving and delivering goods. I'm doing anything to help survive the war. Oleksandra Smal - 27 y.o. Kyiv, Ukraine Business analyst It seems to me that it is not the volunteers who save the Center, but it’s the Center that saves the volunteers. Many things lost their meaning because of the war. And here, you do something very important and see the result immediately. During the war, Ukrainians have become stronger. We saw for ourselves that we and the Russians are completely different in everything: our values, culture, life views. Even in the way we treat the enemy. I want my future children to consume as little Russian content as possible because it was created by heartless people.

‘Here I Am’ project. Volunteers’ stories Story №2 Olga Rudnieva 44 y.o. Kyіv, Ukraine Director of Olena Pinchuk Foundation I jokingly call myself the grandmother of Ukrainian charity. For over 17 years, my team promoted sexual education, fought for women’s rights in Ukraine, and also helped people with HIV/AIDS… And I’m also a storyteller. I admire donors who send help from all over the world. Every time a car door opens, I look inside with interest. The war divided my life into BEFORE and AFTER. Now I’m in the transit zone. I do not miss the physical things. The only thing I hold on to are people. Now there is a war between Ukraine and Russia. This is a war of good against evil. Unfortunately, it is happening on Ukrainian territory. We are the good, and we will win. And I’m happy to tell a million stories about my unconquerable country. #HUC_Here_I_Am
