Star Trek Continues: The Spiritual Sequel to The Original Series? | Ep. 57 with Peter Rising
🖖 Missing that classic Star Trek: The Original Series feeling? Maybe TOS already has a fourth season…For Episode 57 of Trekommendations, I’m joined by Peter Rising from Star Trek Revisited (@star.trekrevisited) for a conversation about classic Trek, modern Trek and a fan production that Peter thinks every Star Trek fan should experience.
His Trekommendation is Star Trek Continues.
If some of the more recent Star Trek shows haven’t quite worked for you, or you simply miss the look, feel and storytelling of the original Enterprise crew, Peter believes Star Trek Continues does an incredible job of picking up where The Original Series left off.
In fact, he goes one step further: should Star Trek Continues be considered the unofficial Season 4 of TOS?
We talk about what the series gets right, how it captures the atmosphere of 1960s Trek, why it works as a continuation rather than simply an imitation, and why Peter thinks more Trek fans need to give it a chance.Plus, as always, expect plenty of Star Trek tangents along the way!
