The days were usually filled with the common rainfall that accompanied the Copper River Basin, with temperatures only reaching as high as 66 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 19 degrees Celsius, and dipping down to 30 at night. which is negative one Celsius. But for two little girls from Alaska, that was warm. And on Thursday, August 22nd, 1991, they only had two more days to enjoy their summer vacation until the dreaded start of sixth grade.
