Episode 93: Kings of Metal: Im Gespräch mit Titan Fox über Hammer King und Ross the Boss
ÜberMetal hat hoheitlichen Besuch! Titan Fox V, König und Kaiser von Hammer King, gewährt Doc eine Audienz. Darin verkündet er die Geschichte von Hammer King, erklärt das Band- und Bühnenkonzept, den Songwriting-Prozess, wie aus ganz viel Hammer und King die Lyrics entstehen, warum deutsche Worte und Sprichwörter die Texte besonders kraftvoll machen, und welche Visionen es zukünftig für den Hammer King gibt. Dann schauen Titan und Doc aber auch noch andächtig auf das Lebenswerk eines gefallenen Königs, zu dem beide gemeinsam aufschauen: den im März 2026 verstorbenen Ross the Boss. Von den mächtigen Einflüssen der frühen Manowar-Alben über die monumentale Bedeutung des Earthshaker Fest 2005, der Ross the Boss-Band und deren beiden Alben, an denen Titan maßgeblich beteiligt war, bis hin zu etlichen Anekdoten zum Mensch Ross Friedman, entsteht ein sehr persönlicher Nachruf auf den King of Metal. Darüber hinaus wird auch noch ganz viel darüber abgenerdet, was es heißt in den 90ern als Metalhead aufzuwachsen. Episode 92: Ehrenamt – Die Doku übers Metal Diver Festival
Die deutsche Festivallandschaft wäre nichts ohne ihre Vereine, die mit Hartnäckigkeit und jeder Menge Herzblut großartige Events auf die Beine stellen. Einer davon ist der Metal Diver e.V. aus Marsberg, der bereits seit 2014 das gleichnamige Festival organisiert. Die mehr als zehnjährige Geschichte des Festivals haben die Organisatoren nun in einem Film zusammengefasst, in dem Metalgeschichte sowie die Mühen und Belohnungen des Ehrenamts dokumentiert werden. Was wir noch von dem Film erwarten können, haben Lukas und Daniel vom Metal Diver e.V. frisch zum Release im ÜberMetal Podcast berichtet.
