Sandra ist Gärtnerin durch und durch! Kein Wunder, schließlich hat sie ihre ganze Kindheit im Garten der Großeltern verbracht! Und genau den Garten hat die 35-Jährige mit ihren Eltern übernommen. Mittlerweile gehört die Parzelle schon in vierter Generation zu Sandras Familie!! Seit acht Jahren ist die Rentnerin aus Hannover ehrenamtliche Baumscheibenpatin. Sie kümmert sich liebevoll um drei Stadtbäume samt der Beete drumherum, die bei ihr vorm Haus stehen - und sorgt so für schönes Grün mitten in der Stadt. Damit will die 82-Jährige nicht nur einen kleinen Beitrag in Sachen Naturschutz leisten, sondern: ihre Bäume sind für sie vor allem auch ein Treffpunkt mit den Menschen aus der Nachbarschaft!

Der überzeugte Kleingärtner aus Hannover pflegt seit vier Jahren sein kleines Refugium mit einer Begeisterung, die einfach ansteckend ist! Durch ihn bin nämlich auch ich zum Gärtnern gekommen...
