you can't hear God's voice if you never get quiet | ubu. podcast

we are officially in the second half of 2026. in this episode, i'm pressing into one idea that has been anchoring me: silence and solitude. Jesus often withdrew to lonely places to be with His Father, and if He did it often, how much more should we? i pull it through Luke 5:16 and Psalm 139, because you cannot hear God's voice, know who He is, or know who you are apart from time with Him. we get into why silence and solitude feels like the opposite of everything social media trains us to do, what it means to tether your peace of mind to the character and faithfulness of God instead of people, events, or circumstances, and why Psalm 139 is one of the most intimate chapters in scripture, showing the omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence of God. if your peace has been tethered to everything but Him, this one is for you. 📖 scriptures referenced: Luke 5:16, Psalm 139:1-18 📚 devo referenced: The Power in Silence and Solitude, Day 5 — https://www.bible.com/reading-plans/46122-the-power-in-silence-and-solitude/day/5 ……………………………………………………………………. surrendered — a safe space for women to fast, pray, and encourage one another. the heart behind this group is simple: to surrender our whole lives, including our love lives, to God and to remember just how deeply He loves us. His plans are good, His timing is perfect, and we choose to trust His will over our own. join us every third Friday at 6 am ET for an empowering, God-led word. conference call: 701-801-6411, no passcode needed. fast with us from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., water only if doctor-approved, or fast from sweets and social media. ……………………………………………………………………. follow ubu. on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ubuthepodcast follow janae bowens on instagram: https://www.instagram.com/janaebowens get your ubu. merch: https://ubu.printful.me/ sign up for the ubu. newsletter: https://subscribepage.io/ubu 🎵 music and production by allen b.: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2WYYBobP6gFxelJ1776qVb?si=1WKAdADbRvKhSVVADeO-Fw

before you soar, you have to leap | ubu. podcast

we are almost halfway through 2026. we are almost halfway through 2026. and that hit different. in this episode, i'm pressing into one idea that has been following me all year: jumping forward. not tiptoeing. not easing in. actually leaping. i pull it through psalm 1 and the broad jump, because moving forward in the spirit requires the same things as moving forward physically. right position. focus. intention. and a soft landing. we get into why distraction eases in gradually and how to spot it before it pulls you off course, the progression in Psalm 1:1 nobody talks about, what it means to delight in the Word day and night, and why you cannot explode with intention if you were never rooted to begin with. if you've been tiptoeing toward what God has for you, this one is for you. 📖 scriptures referenced: Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 1:1-3, John 15, Deuteronomy 28 ……………………………………………………………………. 🔗 resources: https://a.co/d/05jtuq4K (https://a.co/d/05jtuq4K) (https://messengerx.com/homepage-2/) ……………………………………………………………………. surrendered — a safe space for women to fast, pray, and encourage one another. the heart behind this group is simple: to surrender our whole lives, including our love lives, to God and to remember just how deeply He loves us. they called me a sellout: what i learned about offending others for Christ | ubu. podcast

they called me a sellout. and maybe you’ve been called something too. if you’re living for Christ, ridding yourself of sin, and actually obeying Him — somebody is going to be offended. in this episode, i get personal about my time working in politics, being called the n word, uncle tom, and sellout by strangers and even family members. and why i did it anyway. because it was God’s will. we get into why obedience to God will cost you the approval of people, what Daniel in the lions’ den has to do with your assignment right now, why “follow your heart” is actually dangerous advice, and what Esther’s moment of courage has to say about yours. if you’ve been shrinking back to keep the peace, this one is for you. 📖 scriptures referenced: Galatians 1:10, John 15:18-19, Daniel 6:17-28, Esther 4:14, Mark 8:36, 1 John 4:18, Romans 8:31, Isaiah 54:17 ……………………………………………………………………. 🔗 resources mentioned: the bait of satan by john bevere: https://a.co/d/05jtuq4K (https://a.co/d/05jtuq4K) free audiobook on messengerx: https://messengerx.com/homepage-2/ (https://messengerx.com/homepage-2/) ……………………………………………………………………. surrendered — a safe space for women to fast, pray, and encourage one another. the heart behind this group is simple: to surrender our whole lives, including our love lives, to God and to remember just how deeply He loves us.
