As I hope has kind of come across, I think there are both sort of encouraging and concerning aspects to the findings that we uncover here, particularly thinking about the relationship between democratic accountability and effective public service delivery. So the encouraging part is that politicians do seem to place a premium on projects for which they can be held directly responsible. Right. And to me, that seems encouraging. Like, OK, you know, I I was in some way involved practically in the delivery of a given project. Therefore, there's a clear line of responsibility between me and that project, whether it's being built like a piece of infrastructure or a service that's being delivered. […]
