The Principles of Being Creative

Sanah Brown-Bowers is a native of Queens, New York. She has been residing in Fort Worth, Texas for the past 20 years. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York and now attends the University of North Texas to pursue her BFA in Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture. Her aesthetic is about merging her whimsical and realistic style to tell her story and the stories of others. The ability to do this has been extremely therapeutic to her and those with who she has the privilege of painting. She is drawn to telling the story of people’s personal struggles, successes, and finding ways to address the social issues many face on a daily basis. I am most impacted by young people because they have, at times, been overlooked by society and have fallen victim to the unrealistic expectations fueled by social media, parents, teachers, and peers regarding their bodies, self-image, identity, and purpose.

This episode is all about CREATIVITY. This is the start of our summer series about self-improvement. We are not just talking about sketching or painting, we want to go a step further. We want to look at principles of being creative such as what hinders or restores creativity.

Professional Artist, Sanah Brown-Bowers, chats with Damita and Eliza about her art journey and experience with her own art story of creativity.

Visit https://sanahbrownbowers.com/about for more information

Visit www.ujimamagazine.com for more information

Visit https://www.podpage.com/dashboard/ujima-magazine-and-friends/
